Stainless Steel Custom 450 is a martensitic age-hardened stainless steel.
Corrosive environments, for example architecture exposed to harsh weather, have high strength requirements.
Custom 450 is perfect for these types of applications as it is stronger and more corrosion resistant than standard austenitics.
It can be machined, hot-worked and cold formed and is well known for its ease in welding and brazing.
This steel shows excellent resistance to rusting and has the ability to fend off atmospheric corrosion, even in salt water atmospheres.
Custom 450 is manufactured to four specs:
AMS 5673, AMS 5773, AMS 5859, & AMS 5863
And is used in applications where Type 304 is not strong enough or when Type 410 has insufficient corrosion resistance.
